How to use MetaMask Institutional on MPCVault

This guide is intended to assist MetaMask Institutional (MMI) users in connecting their accounts to MPCVault, initiating transactions via MMI, and signing them within our app.

How to connect to MMI?​

Please follow the steps below to connect：

Step 1: Access MPCVault Console

Step 2: Navigate to Organization Settings

  • Once in the MPCVault console, locate the " Settings " tab.
  • Find the " MetaMask Institutional " module on the " General " page.

Step 3: Connect Your MMI Account

  • Click on the " Connect MMI " button to start the connection process.
  • This action will redirect you to the MMI login page.

Step 4: Log Into MetaMask Institutional

  • Enter your MMI account details on the page that opens.

Step 5: Install MetaMask Institutional Extension(If not installed)

  • If you haven't installed the MMI extension yet, go to the Chrome Web Store.
  • Download and install the MetaMask Institutional extension.

Step 6: Continue MMI Onboarding

  • After the installation is complete, click on the "Continue MetaMask Institutional onboarding" button.

Step 7: Select Account Type and Connect

  • Choose the "Custodial and self-custodial" option on the "Connect accounts" page.
  • From the "Custodial account" list, select " MPCVault ".

Congratulations! You've successfully connected to MetaMask Institutional. Now you can initiate a transaction through MetaMask Institutional and send it to MPCVault for signing.

Please note that in order to use this feature, you must first ensure that you have MetaMask Institutional user permissions.

Initiating and signing transactions​

Following a successful connection with MMI, you can start performing transactions:

  1. Launch the transaction you wish to carry out from the MMI interface.
  2. Upon creation, the transaction will be automatically forwarded to our wallet.
  3. Carefully review the transaction details to ensure accuracy.
  4. Finalize the signing process within MPCVault app.

Make sure to double-check all transaction details at each stage to safeguard your funds.
